Job Summary/Objective:
The Network Engineer I is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the integration, testing, and maintenance of wireless network infrastructure. This role assists in drive testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with national and carrier-specific standards. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Engineer I gains hands-on experience in network operations and contributes to the reliability and performance of wireless systems, including emergency services like e911. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their careers in network engineering and looking to grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with network integration and upgrade activities under supervision.
- Support basic troubleshooting of wireless network issues.
- Participate in drive testing and collect performance data such as signal strength and coverage.
- Help perform site audits and apply software updates to maintain compliance.
- Assist in validating e911 functionality and documenting results.
- Collaborate with team members to implement network improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions.
- Learn and apply internal tools and systems for documentation and reporting.
- Provide on-site support during field visits and integration projects.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–2+ years of experience in wireless construction, network support, or RF systems (internships or co-ops acceptable).
- Basic understanding of wireless technologies and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Excel for data entry and basic analysis.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment.
- Exposure to wireless integration or RF systems is a plus.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and standard procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to interpret simple drive test data and assist in analysis.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment / Physical Demands / Travel:
- Office and field-based work, including visits to network sites.
- Fieldwork may involve outdoor conditions and use of safety equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, bending, and climbing.
- Up to 50% travel required for site visits, drive testing, and integration support.
