Clubhouse Security Guard
Job Description
Department: Security
Reports to: Marina & Facilities Director
Statement of Purpose:
The Clubhouse Security Guard is responsible for the security, safety and general orderliness of the Grounds, Marina and Building areas. Duties will include constant patrolling to ensure only Members, employees, approved vendors and invited guests are on Club premises. Interactions will include polite introductions to confirm identification and occasionally firm directions for trespassers to vacate the area. Assist with keeping the general orderliness of the grounds such as placing furniture in the proper locations and cleaning up. The Clubhouse Security Guard keeps in contact with the Managers on Duty through-out the shifts including checking in and out at the end of the shift. Ensure the contracted security guards are performing to established standards and make reports of errors.
Primary Duties
- Patrol the exterior grounds including the Clubhouse, Marina, Weaver Property, and Pool Deck for possible unapproved guests. Make Positive identification of unknown visitors. Use the supplied laptop to make positive identifications as needed.
- Maintain a service-minded attitude. Greet Members and guests in a friendly manner and address Members by name.
- Keep a visible presence to Members and guests including patrolling service areas such as the pool deck, the Verandas and interior and exterior entrances to the Clubhouse.
- Confirm tennis reservations and members present periodically.
- Greet arriving boats in the marina with extra attention to the courtesy docks, the T-head and the Hacienda Canal. Assist with basic assistance as requested but only following Marina Manager approved procedures.
- Daily check in with the marina staff for updates.
- Assist with trash and debris pick-up as appropriate during patrols.
- Interact with the contracted security staff to ensure a proper guardhouse operation and to maintain a secure property perimeter. Relieve the front gate guard for short bathroom breaks if needed.
- Only 1 guard in the front entrance guardhouse. Occasional patrol of the front gate. The guardhouse is not the Security Guard station.
- The Clubhouse Security Guard is an employee of the KBYC. Breaks, meals, and storage of personal items are to be done at the Clubhouse and not at the Guardhouse.
- Direct traffic on busy nights.
- Assist the closing managers with securing the Clubhouse during closing.
- Organize outdoor furniture to assigned positions. Place leftover glassware, dishes, etc. to a designated area.
- Check tennis courts to ensure only members or their guests are playing and to keep that area secure.
- Email a daily security report to the Marina & Facilities Director. Make note of any maintenance needs or suggestions.
- Create incident reports for noteworthy events.

Education and Certificates

Experience
- Work experience as a security guard.
- Hands-on experience with similar work.
- Familiarity with lighting controls, A/C controls, using caution tape, flashlights etc.
- Experience with referring to guests lists.
Other
- Ability to work full days and nights in the hot and humid South Florida outdoor environment.
- Will be required to walk 10,000 or more steps per shift and occasionally lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work long hours while standing and walking.
- Upbeat and positive.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and long hours as necessary.
