Position Summary: The Marketing and Events Manager supports Nonprofits First, Inc. programs and services by growing and developing all marketing, branding, public relations, and communication of Nonprofits First programs and services, and working with committees and advisory groups. In addition, they will lead the planning and execution of impactful events that elevate our mission and engage our community. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of event production, with a strong emphasis on sponsor outreach, cultivation, and relationship management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing Duties:
- Update and implement a Marketing Plan for Nonprofits First.
- Coordinate consistent communication and branding of the vision and mission throughout the organization and to all constituencies.
- Working in conjunction with marketing consultants and the Marketing Advisory Committee, utilize social media/networking sites to support Nonprofits First marketing efforts in funding and business development, recruitment, branding and communications.
- Raise awareness of the Nonprofits First brand and strengthen community presence and support.
- Manage the organization's brand identity and ensure brand compliance, both internally and externally.
- Develop and maintain all social networking sites including, but not limited to: Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Design and distribute monthly and special e-newsletters and maintain email distribution lists.
- Create and coordinate the design and production of all collateral materials including, but not limited to, the Annual Report, One Pager Info sheet, and Hats Off Sponsorship packet.
- In conjunction with all departments, manage and maintain Nonprofits First website, including but not limited to: creating and uploading content, using Google analytics to track website traffic, pertinent to Nonprofits First's mission and members.
- Coordinate the creation of press releases in coordination with all Nonprofits First departments.
- Lead and support outreach and marketing efforts for all programs and services.
- Ensure appropriate marketing materials are available for all meetings and special events and attend, as needed.
- Implementation of 501cTV for YouTube and social media.
- Perform other duties, as assigned or required.
Event Duties:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events from concept to completion, including, but not limited to, Hats-Off Nonprofit Awards.
- Develop and implement strategies for sponsor outreach and engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and vendors.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and staffing.
- Collaborate with PR team to promote events and recognize sponsors.
- Ensure a high-quality attendee experience and post-event follow-up.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of three years of experience in the areas of marketing and event planning.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and staff, community stakeholder groups, members, board members, funders, business consultants, vendors, etc.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends, as needed
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently without frequent supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and record-keeping skills
- Ability to handle rejection with professionalism and optimism
- Self-motivated team player and collaborator
- Persistent, resilient and able to maximize sponsor development strategies through efficient use of resources, time and activity
- Event Coordination experience
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint), CANVA, as well as internet and database applications
