Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contracted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is available to support the healthcare needs of students within a K-12 school setting in Clearwater, FL. This role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, promoting student health and safety, and collaborating with school staff to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including medication administration, first aid, and monitoring health conditions.
- Conduct routine health assessments and screenings in accordance with school protocols.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with medical needs.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to address student health concerns.
- Respond promptly to health emergencies and take appropriate action as needed.
- Support health education initiatives and promote wellness programs within the school community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN licensure as required by the state.
- Previous experience as an LPN in healthcare settings; school nursing experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric and adolescent health care practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of school health policies and procedures.
