BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for strategizing and supporting all 3 brands with itinerary planning and design while optimizing port content, call times, port costs, and fuel efficiency. Establish relationships with port agents and authorities to ensure berth requests are confirmed / assigned, and the highest level of port service is provided.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement long-term and short-term cruise itineraries that align with the company's business objectives and guest preferences.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize itineraries based on market trends, guest feedback, and operational considerations.
- Analyze itinerary performance metrics, revenue data, and market trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.
- Work closely with the Finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts for itinerary planning.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to itinerary changes, port closures, and other operational challenges.
- Work closely with the revenue management teams on itinerary planning and deployment for the NCLH fleet.
- Collaborate with Vessel Operations dept on itinerary planning and development.
- Appraise itineraries for integrity, efficiency, and economic impact.
- Monitor short- and long-term deployment including global travel advisories, weather patterns, regulatory, and geopolitical developments that may impact itinerary planning decisions.
- Voyage planning with navigation software.
- Request and manage berth requests; communicate itinerary changes internally and to vessels.
- Maintain a close relationship with port authorities and port agents in all current and potential ports of call.
- Participate in essential industry meetings and conferences.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Travel & Hospitality Management, Nautical Science or related field of study.
EXPERIENCE: 10 years' experience in cruise itinerary and voyage planning. Cruise ship operations and experience as a senior deck officer is highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Proficient in computers and systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MXP, and CMAP. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with team members and present recommendations. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external contacts. Ability to make effective and sound independent decisions and logical judgment to assure timely completion of projects. Effective negotiation, interpersonal and partnering skills. Strong conflict resolution, problem solving, and organizational skills to manage daily functions with team members and external contacts.
