POSITION PURPOSE:
As the Membership 1st Assistant Golf Professional, you will ensure that each golf member is provided a warm welcome and sense of genuine care when entering the golf/membership area with in the golf operation. This position would ensure that each golf member is fully aware of the golf sequence of service and provide any number of services to assist them along in the process.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Display a professional appearance and attitude, and remain courteous to members at all times.
- Conduct daily walk threw of membership clubhouse to ensure all standards are met including organization and overall cleanliness.
- Oversee and maintain all standards of the locker room operation in the membership club house. Work and develop locker room team to ensure overall cleanliness and quality of all items are in line with Trump Brand Standards.
- Design and implement teaching programs of all levels at the club to further promote the game of golf. This is to include Women’s and junior programs, weekly clinics, golf instruction seminars, and the development of teaching reputation within the club.
- Build a rapport with the membership on a daily basis to include playing golf with members, actively pursuing daily interaction on the driving range tee and 1st tee of golf courses, daily rounds on the golf course to ensure member experience is at a high level, and enforce all resort and club polices.
- Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual responsibility for entire GHIN Handicap management system within the club. Audits and overall maintenance to ensure program is being utilized and updated to ensure accurate information.
- Support Head Golf Professional in handling all Men’s and Women’s Golf Events throughout the year.
- Monitor and react to all items operational that help the club maintain all its financial and budgetary goals for the year.
- Responsible for daily organization and maximization of tee sheet for member designated course.
- Perform efficiently and effectively the opening and closing membership procedures daily to ensure a well maintained and professional membership operation.
- Provide a warm welcome to golf members and guests who are entering the member clubhouse and immediately inquire as to how we can offer assistance or support.
- A complete 360 degree awareness of member activity is required to ensure members are provided warm welcome as they are entering the membership clubhouse.
- Build rapport with golf members when time permits by inquiring about their day and informing them of the clubs golf tournaments/groups, activities and offerings.
- Provide member registration service at the membership check in counter by confirming their reservation, course, and time.
- Follow appropriate accounting LSOP’s with cash handling, bank contracts, Credit Card information, customer information.
- Educate golf members and guests about the Doral history, course information, amenities that are offered, and when asked provide golf professional support regarding the game and our industry.
- Provide an outline of the golf sequence of service to include offering ice/water, explaining where their clubs are located, informing them of the driving range location, and the assisting with their desired next steps.
- Coordinate with the Golf Services team the members golf bag location and set up to expedite the process.
- Manage the tee time reservation system and the daily tee sheet to promote the maximization of golf revenue along with the best guest experience.
- Partner with the starter from each golf course to update daily any day of tee time additions, changes, or cancellations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the inside and surrounding membership clubhouse area to include patio, ceiling tiles, windows, mirrors, membership counter, and designated floor space
- Contact necessary departments via radio or phone with any member concerns or challenges to ensure immediate membership recovery and problem resolution.
- Organize the Daily Leader on Duty report to summarize any member challenges or operational follow ups from the day. Report out at the close of business each day to membership management team.
- Professionally wear and promote the uniform program to guests.
- Perform any number of reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing to enhance the golf operation experience.
OTHER:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the industry, that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Provide support to golf reservations via telephone inquiries regarding the golf operation and tee times.
- Provide merchandising support, inventory management, count and fill organization to the golf shop buyer.
- Provide retail sales support to guests and retail sale team members to maximize the golf shop retail sales volume.
- Provide locker room service support to golf guests and coordinate any spike replacements, shoe polish/shine, locker check outs or luggage storage needs.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

Assimilate into Trump National Doral Miami Cultural Foundation through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.
PGA Class A Certification Required
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working at a high end private club facility
GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
