Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a K-12 school-aged population in a pediatric outpatient clinic setting in Miami, FL. This full-year contract position offers stability with a structured schedule, providing care to children aged 2 to 18 years with a variety of communication needs.
Responsibilities include delivering supportive therapy focused on pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing delays, articulation, and working with children on the autism spectrum (primarily high-functioning autism). The caseload primarily involves mild to moderate cases, with no medically fragile patients, allowing for a balanced and manageable work environment. Sessions are structured one child per hour, along with a one-hour lunch break, fostering a low-stress atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification or experience as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school and healthcare settings
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially within outpatient or educational environments
- Ability to manage cases involving a range of speech and language impairments, including autism spectrum disorders
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage children aged 2 to 18 in therapeutic activities
- Capacity to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
