SUMMARY
The Compliance Analyst position is responsible for administering and monitoring the affordable component on all affordable apartment communities in an assigned portfolio. This position performs a full range of duties including but not limited to resident file reviews to regulatory reporting.
30% travel is required, must reside in the state of Florida.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Compliance Analyst duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitors Supportive Services Activities; creates, preserves, and reviews Supportive Services binders while ensuring all properties are in compliance with resident programs.
- Assist with all syndicator reviews, review all first-year applicant files for move in, and affordable reporting pertaining to syndicator affordable reviews.
- Work with compliance agencies at the discretion of supervisor.
- Assists in reviewing and approving move-in and recertification files for regulatory eligibility.
- Administers standards and processes for file documentation, review, and storage.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of regulatory required reports for syndicator.
- Responsible for monthly reporting and monitoring of state agency reports.
- Program Reports (preparation, review 3rd party submittals & replying to discrepancies.
- Monitoring AME tracking of MOU and Resident Activities.
- Update reporting for Asset Management monthly meeting.
- Maintains Affordable Yardi data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Attending state agency audits, state agency training and industry seminars.
- Be available and physically attend internal or external affordable housing audits.
- Completes all other projects or requests as assigned by AVP of Property Management.
- Ensure adherence to Company established procedures and HUD / LIHTC guidelines.
- Guide and counsel site personnel to ensure occupancy and recertification goals are met.
- Assist in training site personnel.
- Assist with reviewing, obtaining, and administering income, rent limits, and utility allowances at least bi-annually.
- Takes initiative to learn and develop affordable housing program skills.
- 30% travel required.
EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE)
- Familiarity with Section 8 and/or LIHTC procedures & processes
- 3+ years’ experience preparing and / or auditing certifications
- Experience in Property Manager preferred
- High School Diploma, 4-year degree preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
- HCCP, TCS, NCP or Professional Affordable Housing Certification

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
