Are you detail-oriented with a strong understanding of maritime regulations and international shipping practices? We are seeking a Vessel Registration & Documentation Specialist to support our client's seamless registration and ongoing documentation of vessels . This is a 100% onsite position located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with temp-to-perm potential for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
• Vessel Registration: Manage the full lifecycle of new and re-registrations, including application review, ownership verification, and compliance with eligibility criteria (e.g., vessel classification and age).
• Documentation Management: Issue and maintain critical documentation such as Certificates of Registry, tonnage certificates, and compliance certificates in accordance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and other international standards.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure vessel and owner adherence to both national and international maritime laws and standards, staying up to date on IMO regulations and applying them effectively.
• Client Support: Serve as a liaison for vessel owners, operators, and agents, providing guidance on processes and documentation requirements.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate digital records and databases for all vessel registrations and certifications.
• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough vetting of vessel applications and ownership to ensure compliance and avoid registration of vessels under sanction or restriction.
• Survey Coordination: Assist with scheduling and tracking required vessel inspections and surveys for compliance.
• Problem Solving: Work cross-functionally to resolve registration-related issues, recommend improvements, and ensure high service standards.
• Reporting: Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports related to vessel registration activities and compliance metrics.
• Administrative Support: Contribute to registry operations through special projects and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Law, Maritime Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in vessel registration, documentation, or maritime law/compliance roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime conventions (IMO, UNCLOS, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.) preferred.
• Familiarity with key maritime certificates and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
• Comfortable working with databases and document management systems.
• Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, business hours (onsite only)
• Compensation: $20/hour
