Island Hospitality Management is currently seeking a Sales Tax Specialist to join our team in West Palm Beach. This accounting team member will report directly to the Tax Manager and assist with preparation and tax functions across our portfolio of properties.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Requirements:
Job Requirements:
- Review hotel tax-exempt information
- Proactive tax research regarding rate changes
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, use, occupancy, and telecommunications returns
- Maintain files of current tax laws
- Make journal entries into JD Edwards
- Follow up on all tax notices and assessments
- Monthly tax account reconciliations
Job Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
- Previous experience with JD Edwards software is a plus
- Strong knowledge of state laws regarding sales tax and local laws regarding occupancy tax and telecommunication taxes
