The role of the shipping and receiving clerk is to check parts in from various vendors. Disperse parts properly. Stock items put to the appropriate stock location. When parts are for special order for the body shop, have them stored in the appropriate body shop bin unless the vehicle is actively being worked on. Then they should be given to the assigned technician. When parts are for the mechanical shop, have the parts brought to the front counter parts advisors for distribution.
In addition, this role includes but is not limited to; scrap warranty parts, work cardboard bailer, prepare parts for shipment, apply and return cores, prepare parts returns for shipment, prepare warranty return parts for shipment, and any other tasks given by the parts manager.
