We are looking for a skilled Budget Analyst to join our team in N. Miami Beach, Florida. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in preparing, analyzing, and monitoring budgets to ensure strategic financial planning and compliance within a public sector environment. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with departmental leaders and contribute to fiscal transparency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, prepare, and administer annual operating and capital budgets with a focus on accuracy and strategic alignment.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
• Monitor budget performance and create variance reports, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
• Evaluate departmental budget requests to ensure they meet organizational goals and fiscal justification.
• Compile and present financial data for internal and external reporting, including compliance with grants, audits, and government regulations.
• Analyze financial trends, cost projections, and funding availability to guide future planning.
• Assist with mid-year and year-end budget adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for various stakeholders, including executives, elected officials, and the public.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and internal financial policies.
• Undertake special projects and other related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or public finance.
• Prior experience in government or public sector finance is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with financial software systems and their applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
