Duties include welding, burning, use of hand saw, pipe bender, cutter and threader, use of block and tackle.
Expectations & * Expected to have general working knowledge of procedures used in maintenance and operation of boiler room equipment, heating and cooling systems, cold and hot water system, medical gases and waste system.
* Should be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Expected to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
* Expected to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs * Demonstrate basic knowledge of windows operating system.
* Conduct preventive maintenance, safety test, performance tests, and repairs on equipment/systems in accord with instructions established in the department policies and procedure manuals.
* Expected to, in the event of a disaster, have additional related to maintaining safety and security of the facilities for patients and staff may be required.
These may include but not be limited to shuttering of the facility, securing outdoor items, controlling access to facility, operation of emergency generators, prevention of water intrusion, and other related duties as necessary associated with disasters.
* Document all work performed including but not limited to inspections, repairs, and service on the departmental computerized work requests system to insure accurate, and current equipment/systems histories are maintained in accordance with JCAHO, AHCA and established departmental policies and procedure manuals.
Minimum Education and/or Experience: * High school graduate or general education degree (GED) OR * One to three months related experience and/or training License/Certification: * Plumber License* Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
* The person in this will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
* In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program.
Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season.
As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
This is a mandatory program with the exception of documented medical or religious reasons for not receiving the vaccine.
