Position Overview


The Business Intelligence Analyst assists the Director with planning and coordinating the operations of the underwriting department. He/she achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, as well as planning and executing project objectives

Essential Job Functions

  • Systems project management: IT, Docuware, Phone Systems, Atlas, Atlasbridge, etc
  • Determining system improvements and implementing change
  • Lead the planning and implementation of a project(s)
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Maintain and stay current with knowledge of areas of expertise
  • Rely on experience and judgment
  • Ability to accomplish daily goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Have regular and reliable attendance
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of employee handbook

Required Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Knowledge of UPCIC underwriting manuals, procedures, policy administration and work flow application
  • Business processing knowledge
  • Insurance industry knowledge and concepts are a plus
  • Versatility skilled in more than one area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power point and Excel
  • Microsoft Macro Experienced - You will be tested on your skill set
    • VBA scripting/coding (MUST HAVE)
    • Form Building/Understanding
    • Complex Excel Function understanding
  • SQL Knowledgeable or MySQL exposure - would be willing to train
  • C# Exposure or willingness to learn
  • Domo experience
  • Positive work record and evaluations
  • Deductive and inductive reasoning
  • Exceptional written and oral expression
  • Organizational skills
