Walmart Specialty Pharmacy is a one-off business unit within Walmart; specialized in the delivery of low/limited distributed pharmaceuticals to patients throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Unlike a traditional or retail pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacy manages and distributes life sustaining medicines to patients with extremely challenging illnesses. We are predominately a patient contact center, but also operate a fully functional pharmacy with an entire team of pharmacy professionals. While we are not patient facing, we are fully engaged with our customers, patients, and medical practitioners throughout the country.

We are hiring for Ful-time Patient Care Coordinator in Orlando, FL
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional Customer service and efficient pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for verifying patient information, processing prescriptions, and providing prompt resolutions to customer inquiries. Your attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality will be crucial in this role.
Position Type: Temporary (180-day duration)
Work Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm, or 9:30am-6:30pm
- 2nd Shift: 12pm-9pm
- Monday to Friday, with one rotating Saturday each month (9am-3pm) for both shifts.
This is a temporary position, with the potential to transition to a full-time, permanent role based on performance and business needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Sets up pharmacy shipments by verifying patient information and prescription for delivery; verifying and inputting method of payment; using Walmart systems to process patient information and delivery carrier and method; and logging calls and customer information (for example, name, date of birth, address, method of payment, notate call information, how to ship order).
- Provides customer service to pharmacy patients by responding to customer calls and emails; using Walmart systems, training, and manual to resolve customer and associate inquiries; maintaining confidentiality of patient health information; processing and submitting call requests (for example, refills, transfers, payments, new prescription requests, pricing requests); identifying and resolving discrepancies for customers' orders; and researching customers billing issues.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Physical Activities:
- Enters and locates information on computer.
- Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.
- Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment.
- Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer.
- Visually verifies information, often in small print.
- Reads information, often in small print.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in a call center or customer service, preferably in a healthcare-related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic computer proficiency (at least 1 year) including email and data entry.
