UTILITIES SUPERINTENDENT
The position performs supervisory duties related to planning, coordinating, and directing the construction, maintenance and repairs of wastewater collection systems, wastewater lift stations, and stormwater collection system, as well as streets and right-of-way maintenance, removal of trees and tree trimming. The position requires 5 years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater, stormwater, collection, and water distribution systems with 2 years in a supervisory capacity, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid FWPCOA Class “A” Wastewater Collection System Operator Certificate is required, as well as the ability to obtain both a Florida Stormwater, Erosion & Sedimentation Tier 1 & 2 Certification and a Florida Class B CDL within 180 days in the position.
WASTEWATER & WATER PLANT MANAGER
The position is responsible for supervision and operations management of specialized work and staff for the entire water and wastewater treatment plant operations including facilities, industrial pretreatment program, and reclaimed water production. Work involves the effective and efficient operation of water and wastewater facilities in accordance with City and regulatory agency guidelines. This position also has primary responsibility for maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities and equipment. An Associate’s of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering and/or Management, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Water/Wastewater treatment plant operations or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience is required. This position also requires a valid Class “A” Florida Wastewater Plant Operator’s License, Class “C” Drinking Water Treatment Operator’s License, and a valid Florida Driver’s License.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES
The position involves planning, budgeting, staffing, organizing and directing activities for municipal water and wastewater treatment plant operations that includes facilities, industrial pretreatment program and reclaimed water production. The incumbent directs those engaged in operating, planning, repairing and maintaining the municipal water, wastewater, and reclaimed treatment systems. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, including 5 years working in a supervisory or administrative capacity, a FDEP Class “A” Wastewater Treatment Operator License, and Class “C” Water Treatment Operator License, or the equivalent combination of education, training, experience, and certifications/licenses. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Engineering or Environmental Sciences is preferred.
