Network Infrastructure Manager
Position Summary:
Working closely with the VP of Information Systems and the VP of Operations along with members of the Executive Committee, this is a hands on position responsible for planning, installing, and maintaining technical infrastructure (including hardware, software, servers, storage solutions, networks, or physical facilities) that supports critical business needs. In the course of this work, the position may oversee other areas of company's organizational technology needs.
Essential Functions:
Works with organizational leaders to identify infrastructure-related initiatives and needs, and designs and implements solutions. Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, and best practices, for the networking discipline, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center networking, and interconnection. Helps develop long-term infrastructure plans and facilitates major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades and new products/features, and integration. Performs planning, engineering, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of moderate complexity. Performs scopes of work as detailed in implementation plans assigned (system builds, test plans, documentation, training) Contributes to the development and analyses of network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment. Responsible for, under general supervision, the planning and design of enterprise IP LAN/WAN network infrastructure and evaluation of current network systems. Comprehensive experience troubleshooting and implementing enterprise routing (BGP/OSPF) and data center switching concepts and technologies. Experience supporting and implementing Data Center SDN solutions including Cisco ACI, Cisco ACI Multisite, and VMware NSX as well as working with scripting languages (Cisco, PowerShell) Experience with networking components of Cisco UCS, VMware Compute, Palo Alto, Azure Cloud, and Trintri/NetApp/RackTop Storage platforms, converged and hyper-converged platforms from Trintri/NetApp/RackTop. Network/Voice hardware implementation, planning, and execution Ensures compliance with change control processes and adherence to standards. Participates in the diagnosis, isolation, and resolution of network problems. Identifies and documents the root cause identifies potential issues in the production environment and recommends potential solutions. Oversees and evaluates current network and security systems; recommends changes in maintenance and network standards; and trains support personnel on the conversion and implementation of new systems. Leads and directs the work of subordinates with responsibility for performance, compensation, and other administrative functions required of a manager. Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
