JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Lead Telecom Technician to support the organization's on-premises systems as well as their hosted voice and fax solutions. The lead technician will also collaborate with other team members to ensure that goals are being met, and schedules are maintained. The lead technician will also track telecom project milestones for team engagement.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, and maintain various types of telecommunication equipment and systems, such as telephone lines, PBX, Key systems, and hosted solutions.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with telecommunications technology, ensuring systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Repair: Repair or replace faulty or damaged equipment, including cross connects and other hardware.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to users, either remotely or during field visits or dispatches.
  • Documentation: Document procedures, such as equipment installation and troubleshooting steps, and maintain up to date records of equipment and programming.
  • Oversight: Track project objectives and ensure milestones are being met by team.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all telecommunications regulations and standards.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Avaya communication systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and its integration with Avaya systems.
  • Prior experience as a telecommunications technician
  • Solid computer skills
  • Multitasking skills
