Position Overview:

We are looking for a strategic, business-savvy, and execution-focused Vice President of Business Applications to lead the enterprise applications strategy and roadmap for our organization. This role will oversee the end-to-end application ecosystem across supply chain, manufacturing, finance, sales, trade promotion, and product lifecycle functions, ensuring that business systems enable efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making. This position will also partake in the implementation of a new ERP system as well as integrations of any acquisitions into our ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Applications Leadership

  • Own the full lifecycle of business applications including ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Dynamics), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), Trade Promotion Management (TPM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Develop and maintain a 3–5 year enterprise application roadmap aligned to the company’s growth, digital transformation, and operational excellence goals.
  • Lead evaluation, implementation, and optimization of systems supporting CPG-specific functions such as demand forecasting, supply planning, and procurement.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of systems, data and reporting tools as well as the understanding of the business processes related to the general ledger, including transactional flows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with leaders across Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Growth to translate business needs into scalable, system-enabled solutions.
  • Lead governance forums to manage demand intake, prioritize application initiatives, and align project roadmaps.
  • Assist with the implementation organizational change management activities to ensure that users understand and transition from legacy technology to new system capabilities to help ensure a smooth transition.
  • Analyze and understand Finance and Accounting pain points to identify opportunities for automating process and functions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business functions and tech to provide technical and business solutions that meet user requirements.
  • Work closely with project manager and EVP IT in selection of toolsets, services and vendor selection.
  • Participate and facilitate design workshops and provide input based on subject matter expertise where appropriate.
  • Work with leadership team to make trade-off recommendations and provide value added input through both partnership and collaboration.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the EVP IT and business leaders on emerging technologies, automation, and modernization.

Program Management & Delivery

  • Oversee large-scale program implementations including ERP upgrades/migrations, TPM deployments, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Drive agile project management methodologies and standardize best practices across the IT delivery lifecycle.
  • Monitor KPIs and value realization across technology investments.
  • Prepare and present project status and project reports for senior leadership.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Assist in the build and lead a high-performing team of application architects, business analysts, system owners, and solution leads.
  • Manage a portfolio of third-party partners, integrators, and SaaS providers ensuring contract performance and cost optimization.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, digital agility, and business ownership.
  • Facilitate and prioritize team activities and commitment of resources in support of system enhancements and new project initiatives.

Data, Governance & Compliance

  • Champion application data quality, master data governance, and compliance with SOX, CCPA/GDPR, and FDA/CPG regulations.
  • Ensure systems support secure, audit-ready processes and maintain business continuity.
  • Establish quarterly review of application usage, license consumption and activities to ensure user behaviors align to company compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading business applications and digital transformation in a CPG, FMCG, or retail environment.
  • Proven track record leading ERP (Great Plains / Dynamics, SAP or Oracle) transformation projects.
  • Financial process expertise and implementing and supporting ERP, EPM and SCM with hands on experience with all modules of a system implementation.
  • Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors, and large project budgets.
  • Change management and coaching experience to implement new and different ways of thinking.
  • Process improvement knowledge while working in an organization undergoing a significant shift given a change in technology applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational influencing skills with the ability to work with and across different teams.
  • Project management skills to ensure resources are effectively deployed and managed and key steps are documented, monitored and tracked against agreed upon timelines.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner to varying audience levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating acquired brands or managing applications across a portfolio of brands.
  • Experience driving automation, AI/ML, or analytics initiatives within business applications.

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience. This position may be eligible for other compensation, including bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (subject to company plans).
