Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available within a K-12 school setting located in Homestead, FL. This role offers a full-year contract working in a pediatric outpatient clinic focused on supporting school-aged children from 2 to 18 years old. The caseload primarily involves children with mild to moderate speech and language delays, including those with high-functioning autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language support targeting pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading, writing delays, articulation, and autism-related communication challenges.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions, seeing one child per hour with a structured schedule including a one-hour lunch break.
- Maintain a calm, low-stress work environment with no travel required.
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals delivering high-quality care to an outpatient pediatric population.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school and healthcare settings.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in outpatient clinics or school environments.
- Ability to manage and support children with a range of communication disorders including autism and articulation delays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited to working with children and families.
