Job Summary
The HOA Gate Attendant plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere of the HOA community. This position serves as the first point of contact for residents, guests, and vendors entering the property. The HOA Gate Attendant is responsible for verifying access credentials, maintaining visitor records, and providing courteous service that reflects the HOA’s commitment to excellence and community standards.
Job Duties
- Monitor and manage all incoming and outgoing traffic through the community’s entry gates.
- Greet residents, guests, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring proper authorization for entry.
- Verify identification, issue and track visitor passes, and maintain detailed visitor logs in accordance with HOA policies.
- Communicate promptly with the Community Manager regarding incidents or suspicious activity.
- Enforce HOA access control procedures consistently and respectfully.
- Provide general information and assistance to residents and guests as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gatehouse or guard station.
- Support community events and activities by managing access and assisting with traffic flow.
- Follow established emergency protocols and accurately document all incidents. Implement and maintain standardized processes and procedures to ensure consistency and high-quality service delivery across the region.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in community security, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with residents, vendors, and HOA staff.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with access control and visitor management systems.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Physical Conditions
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds.
Work Environment & Quality Assurance
- The HOA Gate Attendant operates primarily from a gatehouse or community entry point, often in outdoor conditions.
- Must be comfortable working independently and maintaining high visibility as a community representative.
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions and extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Participation in the HOA’s Quality Assurance Program, which includes routine audits, checklists, and service evaluations to ensure consistency in performance and adherence to community standards.
- Expected to report maintenance issues, procedural deviations, and safety concerns immediately to management for resolution.
- Encouraged to provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement in operations, safety, and resident satisfaction.
- Compliance with HOA uniform, conduct, and customer service expectations is mandatory.
