Conduct various types of building inspections. Ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner, that clients are taken care of, with a focus on quality engineering, and that we help our clients build as efficiently as possible, and correctly.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE – This Role:

  • Perform and/or coordinate Florida Private Provider inspections and related plan-review tasks.
  • Review CMT results, assist with report close-out, and quickly escalate issues to the project team.
  • Perform inspection work as scheduled and complete all digital and physical documentation, submitting required paperwork before leaving work.
  • Log site photos in Company Cam and maintain accurate, real-time electronic timesheets in ADP.
    Communicate with contractors, superintendents, owners, and internal teams regarding schedules, site access, punch items, and follow-up needs.
  • Identify follow-on work opportunities on active projects and communicate leads through HubSpot and direct coordination with supervisors and marketing.
  • Maintain the assigned company vehicle in a clean and safe condition, perform routine maintenance, keep a vehicle/fuel log, and provide the fleet manager with monthly updates.
  • Report and document any discrepancies, issues, or problems encountered in the field.
  • Assist with take-offs, proposals, phone coverage, and scheduling as needed.
  • Clearly document all work in Legacy’s systems and workflows.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Licensed building inspector (Board of Building Code Administrators, Chapter 468, F.S.), structural as a minimum but other categories (1&2 family, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, etc.) are valued.
  • Demonstrated experience with building inspections in Florida (private provider or comparable)
  • Working knowledge of CMT (density, concrete, soils) and how to interpret results
  • Current or attainable Florida/ICC inspector licenses (list current certifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Residing in Florida, with ability to make periodic site visits in/around Jacksonville
  • Experience coordinating with geotechnical and materials testing teams
  • Existing relationships with Florida GCs, builders, or owners
  • This role requires lifting of up to 50 lbs., daily. Daily bending, walking, riding in lifts, and driving for long periods throughout the day.
