Our company manages a portfolio of commercial properties, and we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to oversee all financial aspects of our operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong accounting skills to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial records..
Responsibilities:
- Record and post financial transactions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and deposits.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records.
- Assist in the collection process, following up on outstanding payments.
- Process vendor payments and issue checks or electronic payments.
- Monitor and maintain accurate cash flow records.
- Ensure accurate recording of property management and brokerage transactions.
- Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts.
- Prepare and review month-end financial reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Process payroll and ensure timely payroll tax filings.
- Process owner distributions.
- Track and remit sales tax for the managed properties.
- Assist in preparing commission calculations and payments.
- Assist in preparation and submission of quarterly tax filings.
- Reconcile and review any escrow or reserve accounts.
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and tax preparation.
- Prepare 1099s for vendors and independent contractors.
- Assist in budget preparation for properties.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Software Proficiency:
- Yardi Property Management Software (preferred).
- Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Team player with a track record of contributing to group success.
