Procurement Specialist / Buyer – Raw Materials & Inventory Management
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Type: Contract (Potential for Permanent Placement)
Compensation: Up to $60K DOE- may have a little flexibility

We’re seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to oversee raw materials inventory, lead improvement initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to support plant objectives in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain optimal raw material inventory levels using MRP systems and lean inventory strategies
- Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders; provide timely updates to suppliers
- Investigate delivery issues and apply root cause analysis to drive resolution
- Coordinate inventory transfers across facilities and respond to expedited customer requests
- Lead mid-scale procurement projects and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Analyze inventory trends and implement corrective actions to optimize stock levels
- Support product launches and manage inventory transitions during ramp-up/ramp-down phases
- Promote a safe, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years in purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, or production leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and supply chain systems
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database tools
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments including Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Logistics
- Project management experience preferred
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as JD Edwards, SAP, or similar systems
- Experience with lean methodologies (5S, 5 Whys, A3, Kanban, Kaizen) highly desirable
