Purpose of the Position:
IEM is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for our Jacksonville, FL. The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for driving strategic initiatives and delivering robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This role oversees the development, optimization, and support of advanced manufacturing processes, with a focus on operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement. The Senior Engineer will lead cross-functional efforts to implement cutting-edge technologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve world-class performance in quality, safety, and throughput. This position demands deep expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, process validation, and smart manufacturing systems, as well as strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to ensure high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to meet cost, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
• Set priorities, assign projects, and manage resource allocation to support new product introductions, capacity expansions, and productivity improvements.
• Drive integration of automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies to enable smart manufacturing and data-driven decision-making.
• Partner with cross-functional teams—operations, quality, R&D, and supply chain—to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and seamless product transitions to production.
• Lead and sponsor kaizen events, problem-solving sessions, and root cause investigations (RCA), ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Oversee the development and maintenance of process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, training materials, and validation protocols.
• Guide layout planning, line balancing, material flow, and takt time analysis using Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Monitor and drive improvement of manufacturing KPIs including cycle time, OEE, first-pass yield, and scrap rate.
• Lead capital projects from justification through installation and validation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, UL, FDA as applicable).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; Master’s degree or technical certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) strongly preferred.
- 7–12+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with 2–5+ years in a supervisory or technical leadership capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Standard Work, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and continuous improvement tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and foster professional development.
- Proficient in CAD tools, ERP systems, and manufacturing execution systems (MES); experience with digital transformation and smart manufacturing platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with automation technologies, robotics, PLCs, or related systems in a production environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
