Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) Program Management (PM) Services

TPS, a sub-consultant to AECOM, is seeking a qualified Project Manager to take on the role of Owner’s Representative. The selected Project Manager primary responsibility is to oversee and manage resources to ensure the successful progress and delivery of multiple projects as part of the OCPS Building Program. The task covers several different types of scopes with emphasis on comprehensive renovations and system replacement scopes. Project construction cost range from $30million -$80million

QUALIFICATIONS:

§ four-year college education (Bachelor’s) in architecture, management, engineering, planning or related field from an accredited institution

§ and at least seven (7) years of successful experience with progressively increasing responsibility for the overall management of medium to large institutional, commercial and/or public building construction projects

§ Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing higher education and/or K-12

Projects with emphasis on design management experience (registered architects a plus)

§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and industry standard design and construction management software is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of project management strategies/concepts to support the services of a major capital building program. (cradle to grave)

2. Skilled in the administration and the delivery of planning, design and construction management services of multiple projects occurring concurrently

3. Knowledge and expertise to review and respond to planning and design activities such as: K-12 program development, renovation scope design management andsite planning to cover: transportation, zoning, building orientation, on-site parking & stacking, storm water and utilities matters

4. Knowledge and expertise in Educational Plant Surveys, Space Utilization Studies, Facilities Lists and Design Guidelines

5. Knowledge and experience to adhere to in-house policies & procedures to support the planning, design and construction of multiple renovations projects

6. Ability to conduct high level reviews of project design and construction submittals for accuracy, completeness and compliance with initial programming, planning and design guidelines objectives

7. Skilled in negotiating consultant, design and construction contracts

8. Skilled in procuring goods and services in a public institution environment

9. Skilled in planning, tracking, evaluating and reporting on project management issues

10. Knowledge of current planning, design and construction industry best practices

11. Knowledge of local and State governmental and contractual and procurement requirements

12. Above average oral and written communications

13. Knowledge of Florida DOE regulations and experience in the implementation of Florida Statutes and State Requirements for Educational Facilities with regards to the planning, design and construction of higher education facilities.
