JOB SUMMARY
This involves technical work related to the operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant. Responsibilities include ensuring the proper quantity, quality, and system pressure of water through the monitoring and operation of treatment processes. Work is performed under general supervision, with duties varying depending on license class.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Operate water treatment plant systems to ensure proper flow, pressure, and water quality.

Monitor equipment performance and conduct visual inspections.

Log plant activities and parameters; assist with filters, clarifiers, scrubbers, nanofiltration, degassifiers, and other related equipment.

Collect samples and assist in lab testing (e.g., chlorine, pH, fluoride, hardness, turbidity).

Operate pumps, valves, and chemical dosing systems to ensure optimal operation.

Receive, transfer, and monitor chemicals safely (e.g., chlorine, ammonia, sulfuric acid) to ensure safe handling and minimize risks.

Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning tanks, painting, replacing light bulbs, and inspecting equipment.

Follow all safety procedures; use PPE; update MSDS logbook.

Assist with emergency protocols (hurricanes, power outages, chemical spills).

Keep accurate logs and records of operational and laboratory data.
Class A Operators additionally

Supervise staff on assigned shifts.

Report technical or mechanical issues to management.

Propose operational improvements and assist in procedure development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED (must attach a copy).

Valid Florida Driver’s License or commitment to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

For Class C: Minimum 1 year of experience + Florida Class C Water Operator License

For Class B: Minimum 3 years of experience + Florida Class B License

For Class A: Minimum 5 years of experience + Florida Class A License

Ability to work rotating shifts and perform physical tasks (lifting, climbing, working outdoors).
TOBACCO/NICOTINE POLICY

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to lift 60+ lbs, climb, walk, work at heights, detect odors, and work in outdoor/indoor environments.

Exposure to chemicals, noise, electrical systems, slippery surfaces, and variable weather.

SIGN-ON BONUS: $3,000 – $5,000 (based on license level and experience)
