Job Summary:The Hydraulic Technician performs hydraulic mechanical tasks on aerospace parts and assemblies by interpreting technical documentation and executing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to quality, safety, and export compliance standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform assembly and testing of valves and assemblies based on blueprints and job sheets
- Set up test stands and conduct valve testing to meet specifications
- Conduct proof testing by re-testing components post-assembly
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during testing or assembly
- Maintain productivity and output quality
- Follow written work instructions and technical drawings
- Use hand tools and precision gages (torque wrenches, calipers, etc.)
- Work with chemicals such as solvents and oils
- Maintain tool inventory and ensure proper usage of company tools
- Complete all required documentation accurately (e.g., routers, hazard recognition forms, ATPs, Slitter Sheets)
- Follow safety and environmental policies, including the use of PPE and proper chemical handling
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and job sheets
- Experience using hand tools and gauges
- Basic understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing or mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with flow testing, valve cracking, and resetting procedures
- Previous experience in a regulated or export-controlled environment
Certifications:Not required, but any relevant mechanical or technical certifications are a plus
Education:High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience:Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing role
