We are looking for an experienced In-House Counsel to join a dynamic construction consulting firm based in Cape Coral, Florida. This role will focus on providing expert legal guidance, ensuring compliance, and managing contractual matters to support the President and the overall business operations. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in corporate law, preferably with experience in the construction industry. Responsibilities:
• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance.
• Provide legal counsel on corporate matters, including employment law for both employees and employers.
• Analyze and address construction defect and litigation issues, offering strategic legal solutions.
• Assist in the development and review of employee handbooks and policies to align with legal standards.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide guidance on construction law and related regulations.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure all business practices adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, mediations, and negotiations as needed.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with contracts and corporate operations.
• Support the President in reviewing compliance requirements and offering proactive legal advice.
• Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law.
• Strong expertise in contract negotiation, drafting, and review.
• Familiarity with construction law, including defects and litigation.
• Proven ability to manage employment law matters for both employees and employers.
• Solid understanding of commercial contracts and their implications.
• Experience in creating and revising employee handbooks and policies.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills to provide clear legal guidance.
• Ability to commute to the Cape Coral, Florida office within an hour.
