Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Day Shift

Full-time -Contract

Shift

• 3x12 hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM OR 7:30pm - 8am
• Day and Nights available

TWe are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing complex patient care in a step-down/telemetry environment, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and responding to emergent situations with professionalism and expertise.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient triage, assessments, and ongoing monitoring of vital signs and conditions.
• Administer medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous) and blood transfusions.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy; provide telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Respond to emergent situations with airway management and resuscitation.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health promotion.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. State, Territory, or District of Columbia.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience (telemetry/step-down/PCU).
• Competency in hemodynamic monitoring, IV therapy, telemetry, and emergency response.
• Strong communication skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• English fluency required; Spanish strongly preferred.
