Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), APRN
Location: Gainesville/Live Oak/Perry

Job Summary

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), APRN to join our team in providing care across multiple post-acute care facilities. The role involves commuting between facilities, conducting patient rounds, and collaborating with staff to deliver compassionate, comprehensive psychiatric care.

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (1–2 facilities per day)

Primary Functions

  • Conduct patient examinations and obtain/document medical histories

  • Adhere to charting and documentation protocols

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as appropriate

  • Diagnose conditions and communicate findings to patients

  • Prescribe and manage treatment plans, including medications

  • Provide patient education on mental health, wellness, and prevention

  • Refer patients to specialists when needed

  • Perform minor procedures as required

  • Report deaths and communicable diseases per state guidelines

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Active and unrestricted Florida APRN license

  • PMHNP certification required

  • Current National Board Certification

  • Current DEA license

  • Post-acute care experience preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experience preferred but not mandatory (will train motivated candidates)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability

  • EMR experience preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
