Summary:
The Staff Accountant is an accounting professional responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the broader accounting team.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Maintains accounting department files and records.
- Review, maintain and control the transaction to Account Payable, Work in Progress, Loan Management and Receivables.
- Record monthly accruals and process monthly financials for review to be provided to your direct report.
- Prepare Financial reports as required by your direct report.
- Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls.
- Sorts and distributes internal and external mail.
- Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, typing, and mailing.
- Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Financial Reporting
- Assist with the completion of quarterly and monthly financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
- Promptly respond to and confirm any requests or communications from assigned auditors, lenders, and investors.
- Ensure clear partnership and support with other internal departments on issues related to financial reporting.
Accounts Payable
- Responsible for reviewing invoices and ensuring accuracy in coding and processing.
- In charge of reviewing approved invoices for payment and confirming duplicate payments are avoided.
- Leads and maintains an organized and accurate filing system for each company on annual basis.
- Assist AP Clerk to response to vendors inquiries as well as manage them to maintain integrity of all invoices.
Accounts Receivable
- Manage all tenant relations and rent collections and Branding Fees Schedule.
- Review all development fees and reimbursable invoices.
- Communicate with the controller on all outstanding and urgent concerns on daily basis.
Cash Management
- Maintain the daily check register and prepare quarterly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records
- In charge of creating and maintaining monthly Reconciliation of Escrow Accounts.
General Ledger
- Prepare and enter journal entries.
- Prepare financial schedules for depreciation, amortization etc.
- Review Capitalized and Expense accounts as required.
- Reconciling General Ledger accounts, especially loans, interest payable and equity accounts.
- Review cost and revenue accounts with Head of Finance on a needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field.
- 3 years of experience in related field.
- Must have expert level knowledge in Excel, i.e. Macro, Pivot Table, Dashboard, Data automation and integration using CSV file.
- Must be able to use QuickBooks and SAGE accounting system.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
