Job DescriptionDescription:

The Sports Events Team Member provides support for YMCA of Southwest Florida’s sporting events. This individual will assist in event setup and takedown, manage key areas such as the registration table and scorer's table, and provide general on-site support. The position is ideal for someone with a passion for sports, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to community engagement.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assist with event setup and takedown, ensuring smooth operations.

· Manage the registration table, welcoming and checking in participants.

· Manage the scorers table including keeping score and time electronically and on book.

· Support the concessions stand.

· Provide additional on-site support as needed to ensure successful event execution.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience working with children and families preferred.

· Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

· Familiarity with basic rules and game play of basketball.

· Ability to adapt to different roles during events.

· Enthusiasm for sports and community engagement.

· Availability to work flexible, as-needed hours, including evenings and weekends.


CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

· CPR & First Aid.

· Annual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens training.

· Annual completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class.


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Regularly required to sit, kneel, or stand for extended periods.

· Must be able to move around the work environment.

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
