Italian Bakery looking for a pastry chef to head our kitchen.
- Recipe creation and execution: Develop new and seasonal recipes, and accurately follow existing ones to produce a wide range of items, from bread and cookies to elaborate plated desserts.
- Baking and preparation: Prepare ingredients and operate kitchen equipment to bake and assemble various confections, candies, chocolates, and other baked goods.
- Decoration and presentation: Professionally decorate pastries and desserts to be visually appealing and creative, using techniques like piping and glazing.
- Kitchen management: Oversee the pastry section, including managing inventory, monitoring ingredient stock, and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Collaboration and supervision: Work with head chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure desserts complement the overall menu. Train and mentor junior pastry staff.
- Customer interaction: Meet with customers to discuss custom orders for special events like weddings.
- Quality and safety: Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, and that all products meet quality standards.
