The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This role ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation. The Housekeeping Supervisor will provide guidance to the housekeeping team, ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards, and support the overall guest experience by maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure timely and efficient completion of cleaning assignments.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, hallways, and service areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and guest service expectations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment; place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to housekeeping services and ensure they are resolved effectively and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and housekeeping reports; assist with scheduling and labor management.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with the Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure room readiness and resolve maintenance or cleanliness issues.
  • Participate in daily shift briefings and departmental meetings to ensure alignment and consistency in operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or hospitality certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a housekeeping or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Working knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) is a plus such as Unifocus & Opera.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and responding quickly to operational needs.
