We are looking for an Assistant Controller - Brickell/Downtown area of Miami. In this role, you will collaborate closely with ownership and leadership, cultivating skills with the opportunity for next generation succession planning.

Location: Brickell/Downtown area
Schedule: 8-5; Mon-Fri (1 day Remote) Travel to Puerto Rico needed
Salary $90,000- $130,000 depending on experience

Company Overview: 2nd to 3rd generation company; manufacturing, shipping and distribution of building materials; offers stability and long-term careers; this role works closely with Ownership and can be in succession planning.
Responsibilities:
• Assist CFO with oversight of accounting operational discrepancies; reconciliations, GL and other related tasks.
• Support with month-end close processes and for reporting on multiple entities and locations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee financial reporting and costs and taxes related to Shipping - Free Trade Zone; imports/exports.
• Collaborate with ownership and executives on strategic initiatives for the Puerto Rico Manufacturing location.
• Monitor company budgets, cash flow, and profitability to support financial decision-making.
• Maintain relationships with banking institutions, ensuring adherence to loan compliance and asset management.
• Utilize QuickBooks and inventory management systems to track and report financial data effectively.
• Provide insights on cost management and operational efficiency improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with international shipping and Free Trade Zone operations.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to travel to Puerto Rico location.
