Responsibilities include receiving, picking, and shipping inventory, utilizing inventory management systems and barcode scanners, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations. This position typically requires a high school diploma, experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with physical demands like lifting and operating machinery. Key responsibilities
- Receiving and processing: Scanning and properly storing inbound packages and materials.
- Order fulfillment: Accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.
- Inventory management: Maintaining accurate inventory records, potentially using warehouse management systems (WMS) or SAP.
- Equipment operation: Using machinery like forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, sometimes requiring certification.
- Coordination: Facilitating the flow of information between logistics, production, and other departments.
- Maintenance: Keeping a clean and safe work environment.
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in warehousing or logistics required (including using machinery like forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks)
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is standard. An associate degree is sometimes preferred.
- Technical skills:
- Familiarity with WMS and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency with barcode scanners and RF scanners.
- Basic computer skills.
- Soft skills:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Teamwork and the ability to work with others.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, often up to 50 lbs or more.
