Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Dog Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be skilled in grooming dogs of all sizes, particularly large breeds, with a gentle hand and a passion for animal welfare. This role involves a variety of grooming tasks, including nail clipping, shampooing, haircuts, and styling to meet the specific needs and preferences of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform professional grooming services including brushing, bathing, ear and eye cleaning, clipping nails, and styling coats according to breed standards or client requests.
- Handle dogs of all sizes and breeds, with a special focus on large breeds, ensuring a safe and stress-free grooming experience for each pet.
- Assess the condition of the dog's coat and skin, recommending suitable grooming services and products.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, offering advice on home grooming care and promoting additional services and products.
- Manage appointments and maintain accurate records of services provided.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dog Groomer, with a portfolio showcasing before and after grooming photos preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various dog breeds and grooming standards, especially for large breeds.
- Ability to handle dogs calmly and safely, even in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in using grooming tools and equipment, including clippers, scissors, nail clippers, and dryers.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport with pets and their owners.
- A professional grooming certification is highly desirable.
