Job Description
A vehicle title agent in Florida processes and verifies vehicle title and registration documents, ensures state compliance, and maintains accurate records for in-state and out-of-state transactions. Key duties include completing motor vehicle forms, using title/registration software, communicating with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), and assisting customers and dealers with their needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of Florida's vehicle laws.
Responsibilities
- Process titles and registrations: Accurately prepare and process all title and registration paperwork for both new and used vehicles, including those from other states.
- Ensure compliance: Guarantee all documents are complete and meet Florida's state compliance standards and DHSMV procedures.
- Manage records: Maintain and organize physical and digital records, including title and MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) files.
- Provide customer service: Assist auctions and dealers with title and registration issues, respond to inquiries, and facilitate transactions.
- Research and verify: Research and verify the accuracy of vehicle titles and registration information.
- Handle discrepancies: Resolve any discrepancies or issues with titles and registrations.
- Communicate with agencies: Liaise with the DHSMV and other relevant agencies regarding title and registration matters.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a title clerk, particularly in a Florida car dealership, tag agency, or auction is preferred.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in state-specific title and reassignment forms. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and data entry is also necessary.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of Florida's vehicle titling and registration laws and procedures is critical.
Soft skills: Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential for accuracy and efficiency. Strong communication and customer service skills are also important
Salary Range: $55,000-$64,000
