JOB SUMMARY:

The Sanitation Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the facility. This role supports daily cleaning operations, ensures compliance with sanitation standards, and assists in preventing safety hazards by keeping all work areas clean, organized, and free from debris.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform routine cleaning of work areas, restrooms, break rooms, production floors, and common spaces.

· Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors as required.

· Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling materials.

· Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces to meet safety and hygiene standards.

· Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, sanitizers, and cleaning materials.

· Follow and maintain established cleaning schedules and checklists.

· Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, or pressure washers (if applicable).

· Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to supervisors.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA guidelines, and sanitation protocols.

· Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school degree or GED.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. Bilingual English and Spanish preferable.
