Supports the sales team domestically and internationally across all market segments. Establish, develop, and execute a new business strategy with both existing and new customers. Plans, coordinates, and manages business development activities including account penetration, customer engagement, lead generation, and vetting of opportunities for proposal development. This role will focus primarily on new business development opportunities for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) marketplace.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Business Unit Manager and Business Development Manager to develop & execute strategic and/or tactical plans to win profitable new business. Track new business opportunities and their potential.
  • Primary customer interface throughout the new business cycle, responsible for building and fostering strong customer relationships and partnerships and influencing the customer’s decision to purchase.
  • Create, own, and manage the new business pipeline and drive opportunities through the opportunity funnel in conjunction with the Business Unit Manager and the sales team
  • Represent CDA at trade shows, customer events, conventions, conferences, and seminars to maintain customer contact, increase brand exposure, and publicize new products and services.
  • Meet with customers to understand their requirements, assist in specification development, share technical information, and promote and sell the value of CDA and our products.
  • Develop an understanding of each account including but not limited to contacts, current product needs and future requirements, procurement and selection process.
  • Provide written trip reports and meeting minutes as necessary.
  • Plan and organize travel schedule via a Time and Territory Management tool.
  • Contribute to sales forecasting, annual and long-term business planning, and product line strategy development.
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting as requested/required by CDA Business Unit Manager & Vice President of Sales.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (business or engineering preferred). MBA preferred.
  • 3 years minimum related experience. Technical military/commercial aerospace sales experience is a plus.
  • Established customer contacts and relationships at key/targeted customer accounts a plus.
  • Proven self-starter with the initiative and drive to follow through on projects and assignments with limited oversight and direction.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and analytical skills in English.
  • Extensive working knowledge of MS office software (particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Ability to travel on the order of 50% based on assigned territories. Travel will include OEM meetings, customer site visits, representative/distributor meetings, sales events.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. CDA will require proof of status prior to employment.
