Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant I to join our healthcare team in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of cash accounting and reconciliation processes. This role involves contributing to the financial operations of multiple hospitals, supporting month-end processes, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities:
• Process accounting and reconciliation tasks within the cash department to support financial activities across multiple hospitals.
• Assist with adjustments to mass uploads and monitor treasury requests for accurate reporting.
• Compile and organize reports, including variance reports from daily banking activities.
• Support the Accounting Assistant II with month-end processes and other departmental needs.
• Review and assign transactions from intercompany transfer portals to ensure proper documentation.
• Prepare productivity reports and monitor department performance metrics.
• Maintain compliance with audits, best practices, and internal controls to uphold organizational standards.
• Provide training and respond to inquiries within the cash department to ensure operational efficiency.
• Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.
• Escalate unresolved issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare, or a related field is required.
• Proficiency in cash applications, cash reconciliations, and daily cash receipts.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple assignments effectively.
• Knowledge of cash department functions and ability to provide training as needed.
• Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies at all times.
• Commitment to completing mandatory training and courses within required deadlines.
