Overview
To be successful in the role of a Travel Advisor you must have strong sales and organizational skills with an immaculate eye for detail. A passion for travel and connecting people with various cultures around the world is just as important as having good written and oral communication skills. This position requires a love of continuously learning about new products, destinations, supplier requirements and programs.
What does a Bonvago Travel Advisor do?
Your main job is to create memorable travel experiences for your clients by selling international and domestic travel, like hotel stays, flights, cruises, rental cars and tour packages. You will be helping to build travel itineraries and sharing your knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or education. The goal being to develop long standing relationships with customers to build referral and repeat business. This can only be achieved if you ensure their needs are met with exceptional service and attention to detail.
Can I do this job Remotely and Work From Home?
Yes. This position is available for remote work from home, however you may be want to join some annual conferences and meetings in-person. There are also mandatory weekly updates, training and sales meetings via remote video. Team members also have a tendency of having informal get-togethers in their regions. These are not mandatory, but highly encouraged.
Are there any training costs I should be aware of?
There are no upfront costs. Bonvago will provide qualified candidates full training via convenient online courses you can complete at your own pace. There are some nominal costs that are pro-rated against your future earnings.
What kind of position is this?
Travel Advisors work as 1099 contractors, not employees. Since your income is highly dependent on sales commissions, you must excel at sales.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized travel advice and recommendations based on clients' preferences and budgets.
- Plan and organize itineraries, including flights, accommodations, activities, and transportation.
- Assist clients with booking travel arrangements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with their requests.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and follow-up.
- Stay updated on industry trends, destinations, and travel regulations to provide informed recommendations.
- Handle any issues or changes that arise during the travel process promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with hotels and hospitality partners to secure the best options for clients.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years proven sales experience, preferably within the travel or luxury retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of travel planning processes, including familiarity with booking systems and tools.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on building rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer savvy with the ability to navigate between multiple systems and web browsers, Microsoft Office
Requirements
- A college degree is required.
- You must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
