Description
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the accounting department. This position is responsible for journal entries, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute month-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.
Prepare and record journal entries and reconcile accounts across multiple entities.
Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
Investigate and resolve variances in account reconciliations; collaborate with peers and escalate issues to the Accounting Manager when necessary.
Contribute to the preparation of annual audited financial statements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting.
Document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned responsibilities.
Participate in ad-hoc and recurring projects to provide financial analysis and drive process improvements.
Analyze lease and owner payment data; recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA candidate preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in industries including lease accounting.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulatory standards.
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other MS Office applications.
Self-motivated and effective in both independent and team-oriented environments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
