We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to work through the 2026 tax season in Miami, Florida. In this contract position, you will assist individuals and businesses with their tax preparation needs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of tax laws and proficiency in relevant software.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely individual and business tax returns, including forms such as 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.

• Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to efficiently manage and process tax filings.

• Review financial documents to identify deductions and credits in compliance with IRS regulations.

• Provide guidance to clients on tax-related matters, ensuring clarity and understanding of their obligations.

• Conduct thorough checks to ensure all tax filings meet federal and state requirements.

• Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate advice.

• Collaborate with clients to gather required documentation and resolve any discrepancies.

• Handle confidential information with the utmost integrity and discretion.

• Assist in preparing amended returns when necessary and address client inquiries.

• Ensure all deadlines are met and maintain organized records of completed filings.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, including individual and business tax returns.

• Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software and familiarity with forms such as 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.

Previous experience with UltraTax, Prosystems, or Axcess

• Strong understanding of IRS regulations and state tax laws.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to clients.

• Experience in handling confidential financial information with discretion.

• Capability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

• Up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and software updates.
