Accounting Manager – Full-Service Team Lead

At Ellenton CPA, we’re seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to lead a full-service accounting team supporting a dedicated portfolio of clients. About the Role
As a Full-Service Team Lead, you’ll work closely with executive leadership to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of all client accounting operations. You’ll oversee a team of professionals ranging from interns to senior accountants and play a hands-on role in managing everything from cash flow and payroll to financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Your leadership will drive both team success and exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 4–5 accounting professionals, ensuring high-quality work and team productivity
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, budgets, KPIs, projections, and rolling forecasts
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Identify and address potential tax and financial planning issues; support client tax readiness
  • Maintain complex schedules (e.g., right-of-use liabilities, WIP schedules, and cash projections)
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with clients, staff, and stakeholders
  • Respond to client inquiries and ensure timely, professional communication
  • Train, mentor, and support team members’ personal and professional growth
  • Assist with compliance for federal, state, and local regulations and audit readiness
  • Contribute to process improvements that support business growth and operational efficiency
  • Support the Operations Manager and executive team with strategic and confidential projects

Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required

· Masters in Accountancy or equivalent preferred

Experience:

· Minimum of Five to Seven years prior experience in accounting

  • Construction experience preferred

· Three or Five Years of Management Experience

· Must provide credible professional recommendations

Software:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Prior experience with various accounting, file management and practice management applications and research tools beneficial

· Prior experience with QuickBooks, Ultratax, Practice, Planner and Workpapers a plus

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Demonstrates excellence in professional development, people development, leadership, and personal development.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Knowledge of internal accounting controls and professional standards and regulations (GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.).

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels, both within the client organization and the firm.

· Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment.

· Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, and ability to break down complex issues and implement appropriate resolutions.

  • Maintains confidentiality, intercedes with conflict resolution when/if it arises, brings potential issues to COO as deemed appropriate.

· Capable of working in a demanding, deadline driven environment with a focus on excellence, stewardship, respect, integrity, personal and community development.

· Strong project management skills.

· Possesses analytical skills with detail orientation.

· Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
