Job Description
Director of Operations — Luxury Outdoor Living Construction
About SYZYGY Global & The Role
SYZYGY Global is redefining luxury outdoor living through architectural-grade pergola systems that merge design, technology, and craftsmanship. As we continue our next phase of growth, we’re seeking a Director of Operations—a high-caliber operational leader who can bring structure, accountability, and clarity to a fast-scaling organization.
As the right hand to the General Manager, this role ensures every department—Sales, Projects, Field, and Corporate Support—operates in sync and at peak efficiency. The Director of Operations is the steward of SYZYGY’s internal Audit System, a framework designed to measure process adherence, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement. This isn’t a role for a taskmaster—it’s for a strategic operator who thrives on building systems, enforcing standards with empathy, and leading with precision and purpose.
If you’re driven by operational excellence, passionate about process, and thrive in environments where structure and culture coexist, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Operational Oversight & Accountability
- Enforce company-wide SOPs, project timelines, and internal standards to ensure consistency across departments.
- Lead weekly check-ins with department heads to track deliverables, surface blockers, and ensure follow-through.
- Partner with the GM to drive accountability while maintaining trust, collaboration, and clarity.
- Act as the central communication bridge between Sales, Project, Field, and Executive leadership.
Audit System Leadership
- Design, implement, and manage an internal audit program to evaluate compliance and performance across key workflows.
- Conduct regular audits on processes such as sales handoffs, permitting, scheduling, and installation.
- Facilitate data-driven, non-defensive discussions around audit results to inspire improvement, not punishment.
- Document findings, assign corrective actions, and track implementation results.
Process Management & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and refine all company SOPs and operational documentation.
- Lead cross-departmental improvement projects based on audit results and team feedback.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; create scalable solutions that enhance productivity and profitability.
Project & Workflow Oversight
- Partner with the Sr. Manager of Construction Operations to ensure seamless coordination between office and field.
- Support project management systems for timelines, deliverables, and vendor coordination.
- Track recurring operational issues and implement long-term process fixes.
People & Performance
- Support department leads in setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability within their teams.
- Ensure new hires are trained consistently on systems, SOPs, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership on culture, compliance, and organizational discipline.
System Management & Adoption
- Oversee and enforce the consistent use of all platforms—Trello, Salesforce, Paycom, Slack, and QuickBooks.
- Ensure real-time data accuracy, task tracking, and documentation.
- Identify software gaps or redundancies and recommend streamlined alternatives.
Reporting & Executive Alignment
- Provide weekly operational reports and audit summaries to the GM, CEO, and COO.
- Surface trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement with actionable insights.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to executive leadership, translating data into decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- Operational Leadership Experience: 10+ years in operations, process management, or business leadership—preferably within construction, design-build, or other project-based industries.
- Systems Thinker: Deep understanding of how structure, process, and accountability drive scalability.
- Auditor with Empathy: Balances enforcement with buy-in; enforces standards through trust and communication.
- Strong Communicator: Clear, concise, and confident with written and verbal communication across all levels.
- Change Agent: Unafraid to challenge “the way it’s always been done” in pursuit of excellence.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Apple environment and cloud-based business tools (Salesforce, Trello, Slack, Paycom, G-Suite).
- Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Can distill data into insights and transform insights into action.
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 annually, based on experience.
- Health & Wellness: Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid Time Off: PTO eligibility after 90 days.
- Paid Holidays: Enjoy a full paid holiday break from Christmas through New Year’s Day, plus standard holidays.
- Wellness Wednesdays: Weekly mindfulness sessions.
- Gym Reimbursement Program: Support for your health and wellness goals.
- On-Site Chiropractic Care: Weekly sessions for physical well-being.
- Professional Growth: Join a rapidly growing company where innovation, excellence, and leadership are celebrated.
Job Type & Location
- Full-time, in-office role (not remote).
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for special projects or meetings as needed.
- Location: Delray Beach, FL (must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting).
