We are seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years of experience on either corporate or fixed-wing general aviation aircraft. Candidates must be working towards their Airframe license if they do not already possess it. This role involves performing sheet metal work and minor repairs for damage, corrosion, or modifications, including SRM compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal and/or minor repairs for damage, corrosion, or modifications, ensuring compliance with SRM.
- Comply with both mandatory and non-mandatory customer requests for aircraft sheet metal repairs and modifications.
- Evaluate damage and assist with time and material estimates for jobs, discussing details with crew leaders, service managers, chief inspectors, or the director of maintenance.
- Assist with blueprint reading and research parts needed, completing the parts request form.
- Repair aircraft according to manufacturers and FAA standards, ensuring they are returned to service in airworthy condition.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience on corporate or fixed-wing general aviation aircraft.
- Working towards or possessing an Airframe license.
- Proficiency in sheet metal, corporate aircraft, airframe structural repairs, skin repairs, and corrosion repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in evaluating damage and estimating time and materials for jobs.
- Ability to assist with blueprint reading and research necessary parts.
- Capability to repair aircraft according to manufacturers and FAA standards.
Work Environment
The work environment is a hangar setting with operation hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Overtime is offered for those interested in additional work hours.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position (5-6 months) based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
