Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications:

This dynamic role involves engaging with agents, providing exceptional service, and handling inquiries and complaints. As an Underwriting

Assistant, you'll process new business applications, determine eligibility, and manage policy changes for both new and existing accounts.

You'll have the opportunity to interact with agents, ensuring their satisfaction and promoting our products and services.

Essential Job Functions

  • Proactively answer questions regarding our comprehensive range of products and services

  • Deliver prompt and professional responses to all inbound calls and written correspondence from agents and clients

  • Effectively manage your time to meet departmental service level targets, enhancing customer satisfaction

  • Showcase your expertise by skillfully processing endorsements and policy changes across all states, with a focus on HO-4 and HO-6 programs

  • Facilitate seamless payment processing for new and existing accounts

  • Provide exceptional customer service, handling incoming calls with a focus on resolving issues to the utmost satisfaction of agents and insureds

  • Maintain detailed records of all calls and transactions on policies

  • Leverage your experience and judgment to make informed decisions

  • Consistently achieve daily goals, contributing to the success of the team

  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, ensuring seamless operations

  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in our employee handbook

  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the department

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of UPCIC manuals, guidelines, policies, and procedures

  • Proven work record with excellent evaluations

  • Outstanding attendance record, reflecting your commitment to your role

  • Strong reading, writing, typing, and computing skills

  • Possess a creative and flexible mindset to approach tasks with innovation and adaptability

  • Clear understanding of the impact of exceptional customer service

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with agents, clients, and colleagues

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, maintaining efficiency and accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Florida Insurance Licensure: 4-40, 20-44 or 2-20
