We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. In this role, you will oversee financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost management and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with project teams and senior management while contributing to the company's financial success.


Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze project costs to identify variances and provide actionable insights.

• Prepare and maintain accurate monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports in collaboration with project managers and the finance team.

• Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

• Handle construction draw requests and ensure timely invoicing in accordance with contract requirements.

• Track and process change orders, evaluating their financial impact and updating forecasts accordingly.

• Act as a liaison between accounting, project teams, and clients to deliver clear and timely financial updates.

• Utilize construction accounting software such as Sage Intacct to ensure data accuracy and streamline processes.

• Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and control.

• Support month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.

• Provide detailed reporting and analysis to assist in decision-making for senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in construction accounting or job cost analysis.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct, SAP, or similar construction accounting platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Experience with construction draw processes and AIA billing formats.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with general ledger and journal entries.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with clients.
